The people of Hudson United Methodist Church yearn for a close relationship to God. This grows out of our faith formation and worship and takes shape through our activities in this world. When we grow in faith we can’t help but want to act on that faith. When we act on faith so that people experience positive change (and new life) this is mission.
Feed My Sheep
On the first Sunday of each month we collect non-perishable food items and paper products for those of Hudson who are in need of help. Though we count the items and take them to the food pantry after the first Sunday of the month, items can be dropped off at the church anytime. The items are collected in the baskets near the entrances.
Safe Harbor Meals
Twice a year we collect food and volunteers to go down to the Salvation Army (Safe Harbor shelter) to provide a hot meal for the poor and homeless of Bloomington-Normal.
Route 24: Mission
We have joined together with other United Methodist Churches along Route 24 for mission so keep an eye out for future opportunities to join with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to put our faith into action!
Weekly Children’s Collection for Nutrition
One legacy of Revs. Kathy & John Tymonko is our weekly offering for infant nutrition. The church became concerned for nutrition among the most vulnerable in Bloomington-Normal. The children of the church began collecting money each Sunday in baby bottles which goes out to organizations in the metro area to ensure better nutrition for infants and young children!
