Feeding the Sheep

On the first Sunday of each month, the congregation is invited to bring nonperishable food items. These are then added to other food and household items collected by other Hudson churches. Once a month, a group of Hudsonites from various churches packs food boxes with the donated items and additional food from the Midwest Food Bank, to be distributed to Hudson area families in need. Hudson UMC members are excited to be part of this effort to care for our neighbors. Thanks to all who have contributed or helped with food packing!

Mission: Gifford 2014

June 15-20, a group of 5 youth and 7 adults traveled to Gifford, Illinois, to assist in remodeling homes damaged in the November 2013 tornado. Work included carpentry, wiring, roofing, sweating, eating, laughing and generally having fun. The group stayed in a camp/lodge and enjoyed meals prepared by group members Judy and Wanda, as they served the residents of Gifford in their recovery process. All look forward to discovering where they may travel and serve on future mission trips!
